06:21 pm - Darn Nora Virus Work should really give you free sick time on them if you manage to get sick while being at work. I went into work Saturday morning and saw all the Enteric Precautions (nicknamed "poopy precautions") as well as the Contact Precaution on people's doors and didn't think much of it part from that they might need a lot of changes. So I gown and glove up with the yellow fabric gowns and do some bathes on my patients and changes where necessary, only to finally recieve an email from my work's email during my leisure time about how staff should be wearing the "Blue Plastic" gowns when entering and performing patient care in Enteric rooms. Terrific. Thought I had beaten the nussaince of a virus when a friend of mine mentioned I had started looking pale and I had noticed there was a rumbly in my tummy. Luckily I made it to the end of my shift but I had to mention and stir up the staff about some symptoms I was having. Won't go into details but I called out Sunday and today because the lovely symptoms of this GI virus, nicknamed the Nora Virus, which are N/V/D. That's nurse for nausea/vomiting/ and diarrhea. Fun! Anyway, the worst is over and now it's just been constant sleep for me. I just thought that work should give extra free time off if you get sick from something while being at work. I found it funny how just the night before on Friday night, Briana, Lori and I were all having sushi at Wild Ginger and sipping our Pina Coladas in celebration for Lori's bday and were talking about how super immune Briana and I are for working in the hospital and never getting sick. Grrr... Now I think my immune system is weakened because of all the stress I've been under while trying to get ready for the NCLEX test that I have yet to recieve a date from from the state. Anyway, nuff of this because the tiny print is hard to look at while I type but there's an update from me. Yay! lol

10:58 pm - I am now GRADUMACATED!!! Schweeeet! It's been a long time coming baby. ;) My Lit teacher finally posted my last grade for SCSU! Even though it's not the "Official transcript" it's pretty official, I always cheat and look at the Degree evaluation thingy to see my grades sooner. I are passed and done with my major and university requirements!! *Glee* But this is all short lived while I go stress out about the NCLEX-RN in order to get my liscense over the next few months... heh and the new job in Feb. >_<;;; Stress!
Part from all that, the holidays were good. Briana and I had a holiday par-tay which was fun. I finished my metal pieces as gifts for everyone for Christmas: Dad liked his little boat, Tim his Heroes necklace, Briana a ring, Mom a pendant for her torque, Seanamhair a scarf thingy, and Aunt Barbara her scarf thingy too (even though she returned it since she doesn't wear scarves :P). Leading up to Christmas was very sad with the parting of Robbie, our 17 year old black long haired cat who was battling cancer and a gigantic tumor on his hind legs. He was clearly not himself for a long while, always hiding in dark corners, not gaining any weight, and always having to lie down because he got exhausted to easily. We put him to sleep on Christmas Eve and buried him up on the hill with Wickett, Bella, Puss 'n, Mariah, and all the other cats and hamsters.... *sigh* :/
Tim and I have been playing World of Warcraft the expansion a lot and Tim now believes I'm an addict. :) He's just bitter since I'm 1/2 a level higher. But it's been fun and right now our Draeni are close to hitting level 30. ^_^ New Year's was a lot of fun too. We spent it at our Shishta Lori's new house. Briana, Lori, and I all got dressed up in Lori's pretty dresses while the guys, Tim, Dan, and Steve mingled downstairs. Our fancy attire did not last long after a few rounds of DDR. Then it was back in the jeans and t-shirt for the real competition. :) Lori and I talked ponies while Steve showed everyone his uber computer he's been building where it's a touch screen. 2008 arrived peacefully and pleasantly with a New Year's kiss from Tim. :) Can't believe (in a good way ^_^) it will be three years together pretty soon. Here's to a wonderful new year and a hopeful pass on the first try of the NCLEX!!! *crosses fingers!* Current Mood: peaceful

02:50 pm - It's gone... it's totalled ;-; I should be happy that I wasn't physically injured in my car accident Tuesday night, but it's hard saying goodbye to a first bought car. Tuesday night I was coming home around 9pm on I-95 and my right rear tire blew causing me to, not only freak out, loose control of the car and actually do a 180 into the center cement barrier of the highway. I had police, fire truck, ambulance there, the whole shabang. I didn't get hurt, partly from the next day where my neck hurt a little, but I was pretty shaken up and quivering after it happened. I banged up the passenger door and corner of the car, which didn't look too too bad, but the insurance company is claiming it as a "Total Loss". They said that there was not only physical damage but there was probably some internal damage as well. The autobody guy said that since the wheel turned in, just the parts alone would out price the value of the car. It just sucks though because I got all brand new tires in January and just had them rotated 2 weeks ago, plus over the summer we had all sorts of problems and paid $3,000 to fix everything. I know I probably sound really cheesy but it felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend. I went to Lane's Autobody and cleared out everything, took off my Care Bear window stickers I store from a Toys R Us bathroom, took off the flower lay from the Margarita's party with my nursing school friends, took off the My Little Pony airfreshner I got from the NJ Meet this summer, etc. :/ I'm feeling a little need to splurge on something to help pick me up, part from the Dunkin Donuts coolatta earlier, but maybe that German Skydancer. 11:41 pm - The Little Dust Bunny So on my day off today I worked on and finished most of my project for my Literature class for Tuesday. We had to write a poem, create a story board, or create a graphics to recreate a version of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, or Snow White. I decided to create a story like Cinderella and am pretty proud of my work. :) Instead of drawing I took photos and made a little comic of my story of which I'm pretty proud of. I just need to do some editing of the text (if you see any grammar problems lmk because I know I have to go back and fix a few) and write a quick Artist Summary about what and why I changed some things. Let me know what you people think. :) Sooo here is.....

10:31 am - Otakoooooon 2007 ZOMG Otakon was so much freakin' fun this year! This time last week Lori and I would have already checked into our hotel and have met up with her coworker friends at the Cheesecake Factory... and by 10pm I was back at the hotel for several hours ironing my costumes while she was drinkin' it up. ;) lol It was a lot of fun traveling with Lori (aka my sister for the weekend/ twin at one point) since she is always perky to do things and always in a good mood. Plus she is an excellant cosplayer and makes beautiful costumes and collects ponies like someone else. ;) Anywho, so it was fun just traveling with her and I making the treck to Otakon by airplane and getting stuck in some layovers and such. Here's what you may have seen me as this year:
Belldandy from Oh! My Goddess with Rikku from FFX2
And my latest cosplay costume that I've been working on as Naga from Slayers to take part in a group with other characters from the series

09:56 am - ************ConnectiCon 2007- Five years of ConnectiCon!!**********
Hellooooo again! My family and I got back from spending two weeks in France last Saturday and today is the eve of ConnectiCon 2007!! Our trip was faaaantastic!! One of the best family trips I think we've had. For the first week we were in Rochfort-en-Terre located in Bretagne (pronounces like my name) located in the country side of France followed by a week in Paris just a few blocks from the Eiffel Tower. The trip was amazing! We ate crepes, drank cider, walked along canals, went to about 7 different museams and saw the Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's self portraits, Monet's water lillies, and Renior's masterpieces, ate baquets, and went to a show at the Moulin Rouge! I have sooo many pictures and so much to write about but sooo little time. Already its the day before ConnectiCon so that means lots of packing up for me and making the treck to my new habitat for the weekend in Hartford, CT where we will begin to unpack and set up all that is ConnectiCon. I made a new music video of last year and CTCons very first year but everything is underwraps until Opening Ceremonies tomorrow..... unless we do a little sneak peak for the staff tonight. ;) I'll post the YouTube video here after I upload it next week for anyone interested. Anyway, lots to do! The Bryanna Bunny costume is gonna look a little different this year as I got a new purple wig that I am in love with from ebay. About time she had a new hairdo! ^_^ Anywho, we shall see what craziness will ensue this weekend!!
Come one! Come all! To the Celebration of ConnectiCon 2007! Celebrating our 5th year!!!

Plus, I also found out my grades this week and am giving myself a big pat on the back. ^_^

12:16 pm - Memories of Nursing School

So I had my Pinning Ceremony this week and it went really well. It was a little crazy getting there because we were stuck in traffic for an hour. It was important I get there on time because since they called us up alphabetically, I was second. x_x We got there and I sat in the front row of my class. At our seats were little oragami Nurses hats which was really cute. Dr. Thompson opened with a speach followed by Aronson. After another speaker our classmate Erica gave us a speach which was really great. She had a poem in her speech of a flyer she saw posted on the door at one of her clinicals. I wish I had a copy of it because it was very true and was told from a patient's perspective of how we should all treat each other how we wish to be treated basically. After her speach we were called one by one to be pinned by Dr. Aronson. I have been sooo excited to get my nursing pin all semester. I know I wouldn't be graduating this May (since I have another semester of electives) but my pin really signified that I made it. It's only been two years of actually being in the program but they were very stressful. Even the two years before that with all my science courses were a breeze compared with the anxiety and constant stress we all had of if we were gonna be kicked out of the program if we didn't get a 100% on that first entrance Math exam after we were already accepted, or pass that class with a C (like Patho x_x), survied clinical at all those different hospitals and units, or then at the very end if we would even graduate even if we didnt get an 850 on the HESI when we all know we are capable. But we came through and I was pinned with my little sterling silver Southern Connecticut State University pin with the little owl on it and my initials BAB and the year 2007 on the back. I walked proud across that stage and waved and posed for my parents, grandmother, and sister who were seated in the front row on the other side of the stage. As I returned to my seat I was so proud of myself and all of my classmates. I clapped for everyone and yelled out there name for my really close friends who really shined through just to have them smile across to the audience. At the end of the ceremony we closed with a slideshow that Jenna and Laura put together of pictures of our class at the end of the year. There were pictures of people studying for HESI, attending Relay for Life, and celebrating after finals at Margarrita's just last Monday.
Juice and cookies followed down the hall and I got some last minute photos with some good friends. I left my school and posed for some pictures with Briana and my mom (a Southern Alumni) before leaving to have dinner at La Luna restuarant in Branford where we also saw Erica (our class speaker) there. Dinner was sooo good, Briana and I split a Lobster Ravioli dinner and a chicken pistachio dinner which tingled our tastebuds. lol Though they didn't need to, since I wasn't officially graduating, everyone got me little presents which was really nice. Briana gave me a little mushy book about Sisters and an awesome looking book called "Punk: The whole story" all about Sid Vicious and Green Day and stuff. ^_^ It looks really cool cuz I like that sorta music. I also thought it was neat on the Green Day section how there was a picture of their American Idiot logo and it was sorta cool how I could say "I went to that concert!". It's sorta like when you see all those Woodstock pictures and everyones like oh that looked like fun but I thought it was neat to see something published in an anthology of Punk stuff and I can say I was apart of it somehow. lol I'm cheesy I know. ;) Also, my parents and my grandmother got me a reallllly soooooooo pretty matching nechlace and bracelet of sterling silver for my "Sterling Day" as my mom wrote on the cards. ^_^ They're so pretty and really pick up the light, they look like pieces of sparkly shiny ribbon.
Anyway, so that was my ending of the year. Though I won't be able to walk this week for graduation I'm so proud of myself and my classmates that we all got through it together. This last semester will be suuuch a breeze. I'll get to graduate in December, take my boards and hopefully pass and be able to walk in 2008 with some of my junior friends like Song's bf John and our friend Inness. Let the summer begin!
P.S. Also as an end of the school year present to myself I gonna go see Gwen Stefani tonight!!! ^_^

08:30 pm Soo.... big test tomorrow, this big fucker of a test that if we dont pass we get an incomplete in a 4 credit class which could make us not graduate......and I'm feeling like I could throw in the whole thing and not care anymore. The nursing major is damn hard and pretty difficult to get in the program and now even more so to get out of it. No wonder theres a lack. And not that I want to be another "cog in the wheel" I just think its a interesting field since theres a lot of science involved but I think sometimes that thinking too into detail and scientifically gets me in to trouble. I don't like any of my teachers imparticularly and whenever I see them I cower and feel like crap when I work my ass off in their class and when i get my grades its juuuuuust passing somehow. I've been taking some of these practice tests and some of the rationales completely dont make sense. I went into the program with a high GPA, on the Deans list, and was an A and B student. I maybe got a B- at one point but it wasnt frequent. Anyone that starts it, you find yourself just wishing for a C to pass and not have to repeat the class. How depressing is that repeatedly? And thats pretty much how it's been for two years when Im working just as hard or harder.
We did a bake sale at school which was a nice distraction. Saw a couple teachers and coward each time and one imparticular was a total liar. It was Girard and she came to the table and was like "Oooh I thought I recognized one of my favorite students!" Helllssssnooo But anyway I feel like I haven't really had a good fun life when at school for these past two years. The reason i chose to do the bake sale was because I felt like it was about time I finally did something to get involved with the school. I'm sorta resenting having to take this test tomorrow because it didnt exist when i started the program and only really this test is standing in my way of finally being done with southern's nursing program. I have a couple essays to do but those aren't a prolbem. and the N-Clex liscense test? Whatev, thats not school related, i can study on my own for that even though I really dont like and suck at standardized testing. This whole major is too structured and I feel like I havent really been able to be myself in two years. I'm even having to go on an anti anxiety medication thanks to it. I hate how the last thing standing in my way of trying to get my life back is a friggin test which I already took once already and wasnt even near the benchmark. Current Mood: blah

07:28 pm THis has totally nothing to do with my life but I'm sitting in the library and they freakin dont have MS Word..... only the Viewer to MS Word so thus no where to type.. This was a journal i started for a class but I'm off to go meet Robin for Bank Night at connhall for Relay For Life. ^_^
Journal Entry
This week in class we discussed about the pros and cons of an Electronic Health Record from the article we read from home. I thought this topic was very interesting because I consider myself to be very computer literate. I think that computers and documenting is where health records will be going in the future. I see the benefits of convenience and up to date accessible information that doctors could review from any place in the hospital, not just on the floor where the actual patient is. Our discussion then lead to perhaps patient information would then be too accessible, and to the wrong kind of people. The issues of HIPPA came up which is of obvious concern. I thought it was kind of ironic how Overall I think that EHR will eventually be brought to life and I think people are just hesitant because it would take a lot of money and man power to initiate it in the beginning. Usually there is a lot of resistance to new things like new evidence based techniques and new computer software but I think the pros of the EHR will eventually overrule the cons. I'm sure that with a little engineering and some computer coding, a program will be developed that will be password protected to protect patient data.

01:06 pm - Ahoy matey!!
Concert ticket to see Evanescence= $35 Overpriced nachos= $4.50 Concert t-shirt= $30
Totally rockin' it...
Priceless.
OMG A POST!!111 I dont want to do a whole crazy update post but in summary from my last one was Christmas in the Cape, New years with the ConnecitCon crew, Jamaica with Tim, a couple Codes at work, back to friggin school, hemipelvectomy lady, Gotham goodness, Midterms (A-, A-, B, B, A+, A+ WOooot! I'm actually passing everything at midpoint which is a first since getting into the Nursing Program because Nursing progam= DOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!), New Puppy goodness!!! Simon ^_^ = sooo cute, and now... seeing a concert last night and my mummy's birthday today!

Sooo yes, the concert was soooo gooooood!! I have to write because I had so much fun. After a long day at work yesterday I came home and got busy getting ready to meet up with Lori before the concert. I wore my crazy black/pink/white raver pants, my Applegeeks RAWR t-shirt, and purple/black striped sleeves. Lori showed up wearin' a shiny trench coat and dark lip stick= we's so goth, yar! ;) Drove up to Hartford eating Stop and Shop brand fruity pebbles and met up with Jeff at the Meadows. After buying overpriced snackypoos we took our seats which were waaaaay across to the other side of the room next to the wall. Ah well... Theen Finger Eleven opened and sang their songs and their hit, afterwards Lori and I went potty and picked up concert tees because we're cool like that and because we wanted extra clothing because it was friggin' freezing last night.
<--- Ma shirt...jealous? ;) Met back with Jeff and Chevelle sang. They were very loud and their lights were uber obnoxious and shined right into our eyes a lot. After that Lori had been in contact with a MLPTP board member Sternanglanz who we met up with during the break and talked ponies. ;) Oh yeahs and Loris and I were so the hotness I guess cuz some kid came up and waz like "Can I take a picture with you so I can remember the night?" and I was thinkin' yeah you just wanna brag to people yous met up with girls at the concert yo. ;) After hearing the lyrics to "Sweet Sacrifice" Lori and I jetted back to our seats with our hands in the air and strobe lights going crazy. Amy Lee was soooo awesome. Her voice is so great and she sang so many songs we were wondering why she never lost her voice. And ya know when you hear people live and they sound totally different than their cd music?? and you're like "WTF are you!??!?! IMPOSTER!!!" (which sometimes I think Gwen Stefani sounds different but I'm still gonna see here anyway)... Weell.... Amy sounded EXCATLY like her released music live so I have a very high respect for her now, and she plays piano and thats pretty cool too. ;) So awesomeness!! Driving home Lori and I ate more munchies and then talked so much that I drove passed Madison and into Clinton. OOOps!! Sooo yeah... that's it.

Halloween is maybe my most favorite time of year since you can dress up anyway you want. I went as a fairy this year because Julia gave me an awesome pair of wings that she didn't want anymore so I made my whole costume around that. ;) This was also the first time I got to wear my pink wig that I've had for awhile. Anyway... ON WARD to see more!
